India receives first consignment of uranium from Canada
India receives first uranium consignment of about 2730 tonnes from Canada. The uranium is shipped to India for the country’s nuclear power reactors. The consignment consists of uranium mined and milled at Cameco’s McArthur River and Key Lake operations in northern Saskatchewan. According to the agreement signed in April 2015, Canadian Cameco Corporation will supply 7.1 million pounds of uranium concentrate to India till 2020.

Australia defeated Belgium to win Hockey World League Final
2014–15 Men’s International Hockey Federation (FIH) Hockey World League took place from 27 November to 6 December 2015 in Raipur, India. Australia defeated Belgium by 2-1 to win 2014-2015 Men’s Hockey World League Final, which was held at Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Stadium, Raipur.

Indian men’s hockey team created history by winning the bronze medal at the FIH Hockey World League Final on 6 December 2015 as they claimed their first medal at a major FIH event after 33 years.

Indian and Pakistani NSA meeting at Bangkok
Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and his Pakistani counterpart Nasir Janjua held a four hour meeting in Bangkok on 6 December. The decision to hold the talks came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi met his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif on the sidelines of the UN Climate Change Summit in Paris on 30 November 2015.

China 1st manned electric aircraft gets license for production
China has granted a license for production of first manned two seater electric aircraft RX1E known as RX1E by the Civil Aviation Administration of China. The aircraft has been designed by Shenyang Aerospace University and Liaoning General Aviation Academy in northeastern Liaoning province.

India's forest & tree cover increased by 5,081 sq km: ISFR 2015
According to India State of Forest Report (ISFR) 2015, India’s forest and tree cover has been increased by 5081 Square kilometre. This report was released by the Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar in New Delhi.

South Western Railways (SWR) Zone has introduced biodiesel for trains
The South Western Railways (SWR) Zone has introduced biodiesel for trains, operating under its zone. SWR’s first train Hubballi-Bengaluru Janshatabdi Express powered by five per cent biodiesel blended with High Speed Diesel was flagged off from Hubli. It will help to reduce greenhouse gases (GHGs) emission and carbon footprint and also to make fuel consumption more efficient. For this SWR zone has set up Biodiesel filling centres at Hubli, Bengaluru and Hospet. Headquarters South Western Railways (SWR) is in Hubli, Karnataka.
