UPSC Recruitment 2019 Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination, 2020 102 Posts

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is inviting eligible candidates to apply online for Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination, 2020.
Interested Candidates, who fulfill the requirement of the concerned examination may apply only through online mode latest by 15-10-2019 , after making sure that they meet the concerned eligibility criteria. Candidates should fill all personal and educational details properly.

 Geologist, Group A Posts: 79 Age: 21 - 32 yrs Eligibility:
Master's degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology or Geo-Exploration or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resources Management or Oceanography and Coastal Areas Studies or Petroleum Geosciences or Petroleum Exploration or Geochemistry or Geological Technology or Geophysical Technology.
Geophysicist, Group A Posts: 5 Age: 21 - 32 yrs Eligibility:
M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics or M.Sc. (Geophysics) or Integrated M.Sc. (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc (Applied Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Marine Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Tech.) (Applied Geophysics)
Chemist. Group A Posts: 15 Age: 21 - 32 yrs Eligibility:
M.Sc. in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry
Junior Hydrogeologists (Scientist B), Group A  Posts: 3 Age: 21 - 35 yrs Eligibility:
Master’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology


Procedure of Recruitment :
Combined Geo-Scientist Examination will comprise Preliminary Examination, Main examination and Personality Test. Preliminary/Stage-I Examination will consists of two Objective Type (multiple choices) questions papers for each stream of max 500 marks (Paper-I : 100 marks and Paper-II : 300 marks). Duration of examination will be 2 hours for each paper.There will be Negative Marking for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the objective type question papers.
Only those candidates who will declare qualified in the Preliminary/Stage-I Examination, will be eligible for admission to the Main/Stage-II Examination. Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Examination will consist of three conventional type papers for each stream of 200 marks each. Examination duration will be 3 hours for each paper. Conventional Type papers must be answered in English only.
On the basis of Preliminary and main exam marks, candidates will be shortlisted for interview of 200 marks.

Fee:
Application fee is Nil for SC/ ST/ Ex-Servicemen and Rs 200/- for other candidates, to be paid through bank challan or by online mode using Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking.

How to Apply:
Interested candidates with qualifications may apply online for concerned posts as per given online application form. No need to send print to Union Public Service Commission at this stage. Eligible candidates will be intimated about further proceedings. Keeping a print copy for future use is advised.
