Reliance Power Fully Commissions Sasan Project in Madhya Pradesh


Reliance Power has fully commissioned 3,960 MW Sasan ultra mega power project in  Madhya Pradesh. "Reliance Power today announced it is operating all six units comprising 3,960 MW (6x660 MW) continuously for 24 hours," the company said in a statement. The fifth 660 MW unit of the Sasan plant was commissioned in August last year. Sasan UMPP is an integrated power plant cum coal mining project at a single location involving investment of over Rs 27,000 crore.

Cyclonic storm hits Bihar

Cyclonic storm struck the north-eastern border districts of Bihar. The storm had a wind speed of more than 150 kmph. Several districts of the state namely Supaul, Madhepura, Sitamarhi, Purnia, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Samastipur, Bhagalpur and Katihar has been affected.

NASA 3-D Prints First Full-Scale Copper Rocket Engine Part


NASA engineers have developed the first full-scale three dimensional (3-D) printed copper rocket engine part. The part developed was a combustion chamber liner that operates at extreme temperatures and pressures using additive manufacturing technique. Combustion chamber was manufactured by using selective laser melting machine in the Laboratory located in Marshall Space Flight Centre’s Materials and Processing.

Union Cabinet approves lowering juvenile age from 18 to 16 years for serious crimes


Union Cabinet has approved lowering of age of juveniles from eighteen to sixteen years for heinous crimes. Decision in this regard was taken by Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The cabinet also approved to introduce Amendment to the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Bill, 2014.
