The mission is intended to make urban areas more livable and inclusive besides driving the economic growth with an investment of 50000 crore rupees over next five years.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) imposed a first-class of 1.5 crore rupees every on three Public Sector Banks (PSBs) for violating Know Your Customer (KYC)/Anti Money Laundering(AML) norms. These three PSBs are Bank of Maharashtra, Dena Bank and Oriental Bank of Commerce.


Union Government extends e-Tourist Visa scheme to 31 extra nations


Union Government has prolonged e-Tourist Visa scheme to 31 extra nations with an impact from 31 May 2015.
In this regard, Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has issued a notification. With this the full variety of nations beneath the scheme has gone as much as 76.
The 31 nations are: Antigua & Barbuda, Anguilla, Bahamas, Bolivia, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Costa Rica, Chile, Cayman Island, Dominic an Republic, Dominica, Estonia, El Salvador, Ecuador, France, Grenada, Georgia, Haiti, Honduras,Vatican, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Latvia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Nicaragua, Montserrat, St.Kitts & Nevis Paraguay, and Seychelles.


Mamata declares Nadia first 'open defecation-free' district in India


 West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday declared Nadia as the first Open Defecation Free (ODF) district in the country.

Rajya Sabha passed Payments and Settlement Systems (Amendment) Bill, 2014

Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the parliament on twenty seven Apr 2015 passed Payments and Settlement Systems (Amendment) Bill, 2014 with voice vote. With this the bill has been passed by both the houses of Parliament. It was passed by the Lok Sabha on nine Dec 2014.
The bill seeks to amend the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007 so as to address the matter of insolvency in the payment and settlement system by increasing transparency. It is also aimed at bringing India's banking payment system in sync with international practices.
