Odisha renamed the Wheeler Island after A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

·  The State Government of Odisha renamed the Wheeler Island after A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Kalam called the island ‘Theatre of Action’. Earlier, in the year 1993 Wheeler Island given to DRDO on Kalam’s request. The Island is situated in Bhadrak District.

Earlier, the Island named after English Commandant Lieutenant Wheeler.

Early retirees will be eligible for OROP: Modi

· Prime Minister Narendra Modi clarified on Sunday that all service personnel who had taken premature retirement would be entitled to the One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme.

Centre makes ‘Suraksha’ mandatory

·  To ensure safety at home, the Centre has made the orange-colored Suraksha hose mandatory for domestic use of LPG cylinders. Hitherto, the hose was only recommended as one having safety feature and conforming to standards.

· Aadesh Shrivastava, the famous music composer of India, passed away on 05th September 2015. He has done his last work as Music Director in the recently released film ‘Welcome Back’.

· Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix title 2015 won by Lewis Hamilton of Britain on 06th September 2015. It is his 3rd Monza Circuit victory and 7th title in the year 2015.
