Ltd signed MoU with Abu Dhabi Ship Building

RDL a
wholly-owned subsidiary of Anil Ambani-led Reliance Infrastructure Ltd has
signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) to
set up a strategic partnership for construction of naval ships. Partnership
will include construction of frigates and destroyers to address the demands of
Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) over the next 10 years. Currently, it has market
portfolio of different projects worth 3 billion UAE Dirhams.
BSNL to upgrade Broadband speed to minimum 2 Mbps

State
owed telecom service provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has decided
to upgrade Broadband speed to minimum 2 Mbps in the country. It was announced
by Union Information Technology (IT) Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad at a function
held in Gurgaon, Haryana.
More than one crore BSNL landline broadband customers will
get a minimum internet speed of 2 megabits per second as against existing speed
of 512 kilobits per second on their existing plans.

September 2015 became the longest-reigning Monarch of Britain and the
longest-reigning female monarch in history. She surpassed the previous record
held by her great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria who had reigned
thousand-year-old dynastical institution of Britain for more than 63 years and
7 months. It should be noted that, presently Queen Elizabeth II (88 years old)
is world’s oldest living monarch.

Government sets minimum qualification for candidates in Panchayati Raj polls

Haryana Assembly has passed
Haryana Panchayati Raj (Amendment) Bill, 2015 that seeks to fix matriculation
as minimum educational qualification for elections to Panchayati Raj
institutions (PRIs). With this Haryana became second state in India after
Rajasthan to fix educational and other qualifications for the candidates
contesting Panchayat elections.

and Belarus set Trade target of 1 Billion Dollar By 2018

India and Belarus have set the
bilateral trade target of one billion dollar by 2018. The decision was taken at
the Seventh Session of the India-Belarus Intergovernmental Commission held in
Minsk, Belarus. The meeting was co-chaired by Union Commerce and Industry
Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and her Belarusian counterpart Minister for Industry
Vitali Mikhailovich Vovk.

Haryana
Government bans gutka, pan masala

Haryana government has
completely banned the gutka, pan masala and other similar products containing
tobacco in the state for one year from September 3, 2015. In this regard State
Food and Drugs Administration has issued notification in the interest of public
health.

the Saakshar Bharat Awards 2015
President Pranab Mukherjee
presented the Saakshar Bharat Awards 2015 at the International Literacy Day
Celebrations organized by Union Ministry of Human Resource Development. He gave
away 11 Saakshar Bharat Awards 2014 to State, Districts, Blocks, Gram Panchayats,
State Resource Centre (SRC) and Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) for their best
performance in the field of adult education.
