Australia won the world cup for the fifth time
Australia defeated New Zealand by 7 wickets in the final and lifted the
Cricket World Cup for the record fifth time in Melbourne, Australia.
Its previous wins came in the years 1987, 1999, 2003, and 2007.
Australia also became the second host country to win the title. India in 2011
had become the first host country to win the title.
Bharat Ratna conferred posthumously on Madan Mohan
Malviya
President Pranab Mukherjee conferred country's highest civilian award Bharat
Ratna to the Noted educationist and freedom fighter Madan Mohan Malviya. His
family members received the award from the President.
Malaviya was the
founder of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) at Varanasi in 1916.
He remained the president of Indian National Congress four time.
Aditi Arya won the Miss India 2015 title
Aditi Arya of Delhi won the Miss India 2015 title at the 52nd edition of the
beauty contest held at Yash Raj Studio in Mumbai.
She was crowned with the title by Koyal Rana, Femina Miss India 2014.
The first runner-up was Aafreen Rachel Vaz of Mangaluru, Karnataka and the
second runner-up was Vartika Singh of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
Sebastian Vettel wins the Malaysian Grand Prix

Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel won the Malaysian Grand Prix 2015, as Lewis
Hamilton came second and Nico Rosberg finished third.
Srikant won India Open Super Series Badminton Men's Singles
title
K. Srikanth defeated Viktor Axelsen of Denmark in three games 18-21, 21-13,
21-12 and won the India Open Super Series Badminton Men's Singles title.
No Indian in the announced ICC’s World Cup XI
Not a single Indian cricketer found a place in the ICC’s World Cup XI which
was dominated by runners‐up New Zealand rather than champions Australia with
Black Caps skipper Brendon McCullum as its captain.
The ICC team features five New Zealanders, including McCullum, despite their
seven‐wicket loss to Australia in the summit clash on Sunday.
