Modi, Shinzo will visit Varanasi on Dec 12
Indian and Japanese Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Shinzo Abe will visit this ancient temple town tomorrow. Their visit assumes significance as it comes against the backdrop of Partner City Agreement between Kyoto and Varanasi.

Telangana setup first Intellectual Property Crime Unit
Intellectual Property Crime Unit (TIPCU) setup by Telangana is country’s first of its kind anti-piracy police. It will probably start in the next few months. It will have representatives from cyber-crime police, state IT ministry, internet service providers, the Telugu film industry, legal experts and financial experts.

National Museum’s Art Gallery inaugurated at Udyog Bhawan Metro Station, New Delhi
Union Minister of State for Culture and Tourism Dr. Mahesh Sharma has inaugurated “National Museum’s Art Gateway” at the Udyog Bhawan Metro Station of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) in New Delhi.

The National Museum has joined hands with DMRC to promote the Indian Art through the Metro. It will allow Delhi Metro Rail users in large numbers to get a quick glimpse of National Museum collection and the Art works displayed here will be changed regularly to engage viewers with many more pieces of Rich Indian Art and Cultural Heritage.

India and South Korea has signed MoU on taxation treaty
Memorandums of understanding (MoU) on suspension of collection of taxes during pendency of mutual agreement procedure have been signed by India and South Korea. During the pendency of Mutual Agreement Procedure (MAP) proceedings burden of double assessment for taxpayers in both the countries can be released by MoU.
India and Korea also have agreed that transfer pricing dispute cases will be taken up for MAP under the revised Double Tax Avoidance Agreement (DTAA).

NGT banned plastic use in Rishikesh
Along with Plastic ban, NGT has also banned camping activity from Kaudiyala to Rishikesh in Uttarakhand with immediate effect. However it has allowed rafting activity in river Ganga, saying it does not cause pollution. Thus in the verdict, NGT will levy heavy penalties on hotels Ashrams and Dharamshalas in the area that flout the plastic ban.

India and Pakistan on agreed for 10-point Comprehensive Bilateral Dialogue (CBD)
10-point Comprehensive Bilateral Dialogue was stated in the joint statement that was issued after a meeting between External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Pakistan Prime Minister's Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz in Islamabad.

Kapil Chopra to head world tourism council
Kapil Chopra, President, The Oberoi Group, has been appointed as the Chairman of World Travel & Tourism Council, India Initiative (WTTCII) for 2016. Ashwani Lohani, Chairman & Managing Director, Air India, has been appointed as the Vice-Chairman of WTTCII for 2016.

World’s first dengue vaccine, Dengvaxia, approved for use in Mexico
The Mexican authorities on 9 December 2015 approved the use of the first-ever vaccine against dengue fever, which will be publicly available for the first time. Sanofi has requested regulatory approval of Dengvaxia vaccine in 20 countries across Asia and Latin America, but Mexico was the first to approve it.

Naseeruddin Shah received lifetime achievement award at DIFF

Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah was honoured with the lifetime achievement award at the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF). French actress Catherine Deneuve also received the award.
