Homeo Vision 2016 - Inaugurated At Nagpur
ü  The twenty fourth National Homoeopathic Congress Homeo-Vision 2016 was inaugurated by the Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) and Health and Family Welfare, Shri Shripad Yesso Naik in Nagpur.
ü  Indian Institute of Homeopathic Physician (IIHP), Maharashtra State Branch, Nagpur has organized this two-day National conference (13th and 14th February, 2016) to discuss the recent advances in technology, innovative research and quality education in Homeopathy.

Mysuru declared cleanest city in Swachh Sarvekshan 2016
ü  Mysuru city from Karnataka has been ranked first in terms of cleanliness for second time in row among the 73 surveyed cities in Swachh Sarvekshan 2016.
ü  It was announced by Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu during the Swachh Survekshan 2016 award function held in New Delhi.

India, Sweden signed MoU on Technical Cooperation in Rail Sector
ü  Union Ministry of Railways and Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation of Sweden have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Technical Cooperation in Rail Sector.
ü  The main objective of MoU is to develop cooperation activities in the Railway sector to promote efficiency and sustainability and to achieve concrete results with regard to bilateral trade, research, investment and technology transfer.
ü  Training and continuing of education program in maintenance of Rail transport system for Railway engineers and managers.

1st Mega Food Park of Jharkhand inaugurated at Getalsud, Ranchi
ü  1st Mega Food Park (MFP) of Jharkhand was inaugurated by Union Minister of Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal at Getalsud village in Ranchi district.
ü  The park has been set up under the aegis of the Mega Food Park Scheme (MFPS) of the Union Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MFPI) as a public private partnership (PPP).

Himalayan griffon spotted in Goa
ü  Birdwatchers in Goa have reported spotting the rare Himalayan griffon, also known as Himalayan vulture.
ü  The Himalayan griffon was previously believed to belong to the upper Himalayas and was presumed to stray till the Gangetic plains at the most
ü  The Himalayan vulture or Himalayan griffon vulture is an Old World vulture in the family Accipitridae
ü  Himalayan griffons do not breed in the first 3 years, and hence juvenile birds of the species do not remain in breeding grounds to avoid competition.

India, Seychelles joint military exercise LAMITYE 2016 begins
ü  The 7th edition of India, Seychelles joint military exercise LAMITYE 2016 has begun in Victoria, Seychelles.
ü  The fourteen day exercise has been conducted at Seychelles Defence Academy (SDA), Victoria till February 28, 2016.
ü  Joint military exercise will be concluding phase of the drill. It will be incorporating a tactical exercise to review the standards of interoperability achieved by both the contingents.

ü  To accelerate India’s economic growth by increasing infrastructure spending in 2016-17 budget
ü  It can give the government room to raise infrastructure-related spending

Pakistan province passes Hindu marriage Bill
ü  The Sindh Assembly of Pakistan has passed the Hindu Marriage Bill 2015, thus becoming the first province in the country to allow the minority community to register their marriages.
ü  Sindh Parliamentary Affairs Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro moved the bill, which will apply to entire Sindh province, which has a sizeable population of Hindus.
ü  During the discussion on the bill, he said it was the first time since the creation of Pakistan that such a bill was being passed.
ü  Pakistan’s Hindus and other minorities have faced a surge of violence in recent years as militant Islamists attack groups that do not share their strict interpretation of Islam.

Austrian tennis player Dominic Thiem won the ATP Buenos Aires tournament
ü  Austrian tennis player Dominic Thiem won the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Buenos Aires tournament after defeating Spaniard Nicolas Almagro. This was the fourth ATP singles title for Theim.
